The RHS doesn’t offer concessions on its Individual or Joint annual memberships. However, if you’re interested in a Life Membership – which will grant you and a family guest or two children unlimited admission to the RHS’s five gardens for the rest of your life – the good news is that over-60s get a significant discount (£935) compared with the standard adult price (£1,495). There’s money to be saved on the joint Life Membership, too, with over-60s paying £1,335 instead of the usual £2,045.
People aged 60 and over who’ve been a National Trust member for at least the last three years can get a 25% discount when they next renew their membership. This will reduce the cost from £84 per year/£7 per month to £63 per year/£5.25 per month. A joint senior membership is also available for £104.40. To request this senior membership concession, you’ll need to call the National Trust on 0344 800 1895. National Trust membership grants you access to over 500 special places across the UK, from castles and stately homes to gardens and nature reserves.
If you’re 65 or over, you can get a Senior membership for just £63 per year/£5.25 per month (standard adult price £69 per year/£5.75 per month. A Joint Senior membership, for two over-65s, is also available at £96 per year/£8 per month). Each adult can take up to six children with them at no extra cost. With any English Heritage membership, you get access to over 400 historic sites across the country, making these deals exceptional value for money.
Boundless – If you're retired from the public sector or civil service, you can make savings on a wide range of days out by signing up to Boundless. If you're considering a holiday away, you can also find discounts and savings on Holiday breaks, cruises, and bus tours. With plenty of holiday packages specifically for older people, there's a huge array of places to visit without breaking the bank.
